Laboratory tests:

 

A very specialized tests always performed to check additives like the reliability of demulsifiers, corrosion & scale inhibitors under varying brine, pH, inhibitor concentrations, and temperatures. At same for Paraffin and asphaltene inhibitors or dispersants.

  


Treatments:

 

Preventive treatment:  It depends on the probability of damage and the consequence of a potential damage.

For that, our Inhibitors can be used as a protective coating using dispersion techniques:

  • Corrosion inhibitors are commonly applied via a process known as passivation which through it a light coat of a protective material, such as metal oxide, creates a protective layer over the metal that acts as a barrier against corrosion.
  • Scale formation is prevented by pre-treatment of boiler make-up water (using water softeners, demineralizers and reverse osmosis to remove scale-forming minerals)
  • The control of microbial growth is generally achieved by ensuring systems which are cleaned on start-up and regularly as required, preventing contamination of systems and dosing with a biocide either on a continuous basis or via a program of shock dosing.
  • The dispersion process prevents the asphalt molecules from re-agglomerating into larger masses that will quickly separate from the liquid as a solid.

 

    Curative treatmentit relies on many factors:

  • Types of formation: Asphaltenes / waxes /corrosion/bacteria/foam….to choose the right inhibitor
  • Severity of attack: Low or high degree
  • Temperature: Under which formation will and will not deposit.
  • pH: The inhibitors perform less effectively in a low or high-pH environment.
  • Weather: How we can use inhibitor in a cold-climate operation.
  • Chemical compatibility: For example, the scale inhibitor must be compatible with other treatment chemicals such as: Oxygen scavengers, corrosion inhibitors, and biocides.
  • Viscosity:  It is important because it depends on environment (onshore/offshore)
  • Method of use: We have required different remediation techniques such as:  Sulfate ion sequestering from sea injection waters, chemical or mechanical scale removal/dissolution….
